actually I'm not sure if this is already there and it's me just not being able to do it. It would be great if we could freeplay with the selected instrument while the tracker is playing a pattern. I'm running 68k with paula, so I'm not sure if this is possible, but why not ? I can forfeit a channel if need be ?

Hi coze. This has been brought up before, and as soon as I get around to sending Xeron my MIDI keyboard for dev purposes, he's going to think about implementing that *and* going so far as to have the possibility of dedicated/forfeited channels given over exclusively for 'live' playing.
The big problem will be the speed issue with 68k Hively: I'm running A1200/060 and I know that Hively only *just* manages to cope. It's not that our respective setups couldn't cope; it's more that accurate timing for live playing would be almost an impossibility.
Anyway, just so you know that this topic *has* been discussed, and that it'll be looked at closely in time:)

(I know the MIDI thing isn't necessarily relevant, but I just mean that it's in the context of live control that the MIDI thing came up in the first place:)
