hii...
i'm trying to run ahx on an amiga 2000. my kickstart is 2.04 (37.175) running AmigaOS2.1

i've downloaded SnoopDOS 3.8 to try to diagnose the issue.

here is what the SnoopDOS window says after trying to run the 68000 version of ahx:

Count Process Name Action Target Name Options Res.
------------------------------------------------------
1 [1] AHX-68~1 Open PROGDIR:AHX.waves Read Fail
2 ramlib Load LIBS:amigaguide.library Fail
3 ramlib Load amigaguide.library Fail
4 [1] AHX-68~1 Open FONTS:microknight.font Read Fail
5 [1] AHX-68~1 Open FONTS:microknight.otag Read Fail
6 [1] AHX-68~1 Open FONTS:pt.font Read Fail
7 [1] AHX-68~1 Open FONTS:pt.otag Read Fail
8 [1] AHX-68~1 Open PROGDIR:AHX.prefs Read Fail

it's hard to format it correctly in here... if you want to see it better go here:
http://hpaste.org/fastcgi/hpaste.fcgi/view?id=8005#a8005

The workbench dialog error just says:
Program failed (error #80000004).

i am a total amiga noob... so if anyone has any ideas about what the problem might be, please let me know!

thanks in advance!

Er, here's a very late reply :/

Looks like it can't find basically all of the files it needs - the fonts have to be moved from the AHX dir to your Workbench's Fonts dir. The amigaguide library fail shouldn't matter - it should run, but fail to show the online help when you press the 'Help' key on your Amiga. the .waves and .prefs read fail, I think, don't matter as they don't get created until the first time you save them from the program.

But AHX must have its fonts, or it just falls over. Sort the fonts and I think you'll be fine :)

(i.e. from AHX directory:

copy mircoknight.font Fonts:
copy microknight.otag Fonts:
copy pt.font Fonts:
copy pt.otag Fonts:
)

From my memory, I think that'll work...
