Having got Hively pretty much working on classic hardware, I've noticed one or two things...

The note jump (CTRL+1, etc) seems to only work for actual note column entry - in the Ins and Effects columns, the default of +1 still seems to be added. The instrument editor doesn't seem to be affected at all by changes to the note jump - this was apparently the case in AHX, but you could do the command while in the instrument editor to set it there, separately.

If that's the case, and I'm not missing something/the 68k version isn't slightly different, then might I couch it as a feature request? I think it would help people to track more efficiently if they had global behaviour for note-entry.

I've forgotten the other little requests I had:) I'll add them to this thread as I remember... Cheers yet again for Hively, xeron - it's getting more and more exciting the more successful executions I have!

[Edit - bollocks, wrong subforum... Can somebody shift this for me please?]

Hmm. Good point. I'll fix the note jump so it works in the other columns, and add a seperate note jump to the instrument editor.

OK, thats in 1.1 for OS4. I'll send the details of the changes over to BuZz tonight so he can build it into the OS3.x version.

@Varthall
Nope. Press Ctrl+2, then enter some notes into the track editor. Then try Ctrl+3, Ctrl+4 etc. right up to Ctrl+0. Ctrl+1 to go back to normal.

Sorry, I meant the F5-F10 keys, which btw work under Hively, too. Didn't notice that they work only in note insertion mode. I now remember the note jump keys, borrowed from PT too.

Just adding a couple more things...

This is a really cheeky one, because it's not a bugfix or extra feature, it's just me being picky:P I got really used to Esc for switching between pattern-edit and instrument-edit in AHX and since the 68k version doesn't have a warning on quitting when the .hvl has been modified (although that might have a quick fix in itself) it's been leading to a fair few anguished wails on my part:D Obviously it's something I can get used to...but I really like, y'know, bashing that Esc for a quick bit of instrument adjusting without having to reach for the mouse. After all - Ins Edit is accessed much more than Quit, since Hively is too good to want to leave;)

Feelings? Thoughts?

Well, it SHOULD do a "song is modified" requester on exit, thats a bug which I'll fix.

The "ESC to leave instrument editor" is pretty easy to do, so I see no reason why it can't be included in the next version.

Edit: OK, i've done that, it'll be in the next release. I've forwarded details to BuZz, so it'll be included in the first 68k release.

oh... esc should be used to access the instrument editor too right, not just exit from it.
