We've just talked about it in-channel, but just to jog your memory when you get around to shoehorning this round of requests in;)

Position-switching behaviour:

During playback, using ALT+LEFT/RIGHT to skip position back or forward follows the ProTracker standard behaviour, whereby playback continues from the 'current' frame in the new position. So imagine you start playback on position 0, it gets to frame 27, you skip to position 1 and it continues from 28, keeping in time with the tune tempo (but probably sounding quite weird).

Standard AHX behaviour is for the current position to play to the end before the new position (selected either with the aforementioned keyshortcut or with the cursor in the performance list at the top) starts. This is really great for live performers who want to improvise a bit with the order of their patterns/positions; keep it varied each time etc, so it'd be great to have this as a toggleable option - between 'Protracker' and 'AHX' live position jumping, as it were.

More feature requests!
1. Any chance of block-selection and cut/copy/paste in the performance list? It'd also be great to have an option to switch off the horizontal auto-advance in there, and maybe even to have a static character at the top of each column to tell you which channel it corresponds to! It's not too hard to figure it out, obviously, but I'm paranoid of losing track in the middle of a huge piece and nuking something by accidentally overwriting the wrong channel's track before saving...

2. A keyboard shortcut for soloing the current channel (muting all others)? Much like Ctrl+A and Ctrl+Q, which are great...but another one:P

3. Possibly the one I'd most like to see - an option (or even default) for tabbing to the current column when editing ie. suppose you want to skim over four channels, putting C20 commands in each in the same frame, you could tab from one 'middle FX column' to the next, rather than it going to the next channel's note column...if that makes sense...? It would definitely allow for faster editing for me, and would make lag slightly less frustrating for people with weaker machines;)

Well that's my petition for this week, but I honestly reckon there's nothing else I can think of... And I've really racked my brain! Oh - except for the live multikey Jam mode, but that's definitely something on a larger scale...

I said I couldn't think of more, but I have! It's a really tiny one, and it might be one that only needs to be done in the 68k version, I dunno...

Continuous mouse/value/increasey/clicky/thing

Most 68k hardware users are likely not to have mousewheel support (for me, it'd mean the £60 purchase of a USB expansion, even more cutting up of my A1200 case and besides - my A500 PSU is already at bursting point:) and it would be cool if the Instrument Editor gadgets for ADSR values etc could follow AHX's 'right+left' click behaviour for fast adjustment.

I'll mention it on the channel if I catch xeron/exobuzz too.

Right mouse + left mouse already increments by 10s.

Also, you can attach a wheelmouse with a simple PS/2 adaptor, such as the cocolino or ezmouse.

it is true though. that most 68k dudes don't have a ps/2 device, and don't intend to get one just because of hively. :/
i've already been nagging you about this one though. hehe

I would happily shell out a tenner for Hively (after all, Hively is why I bought an '060 ;] ) but I'm inseparably attached to my original Amiga 'tank' mouse;)

What I meant, in addition to the increase increment, was the continuous increase when you keep the buttons held down but it's a fairly frivolous request, so not a particularly big deal.

not sure ive understood correctly. But on the 68k version, the [ and ] keys emulate the mousewheel.

hover over something and try them

Does anybody can do something who was in AHX. When you press 'enter' on numeric keyboard and then number of sample, you can jump to this sample. Scrolling is a bit boring when you got 44 or more samples loaded :D THX

Hively works slightly differently. Numpad keys 0-9 select instrument 0-9. But if you press "keypad +", they now select 10-19. You can use "+" to increase the "tens" column and "-" to decrease it.

I might add AHX style as well, though.

Done for next version (if by performance list you meant position editor, that is. From the gist of the whole paragraph, I think thats what you meant; the performance list is the thing in the instrument editor).

have a static character at the top of each column to tell you which channel it corresponds to!

Done for next version. Instead of being an option, Ctrl+Tab jumps to the same column in the next channel, and Ctrl+Shift+Tab jumps to the same column in the previous channel.

Done for next version. Ctrl+A and Ctrl+Q work as before, and I've added Alt+A (mute all but the current channel), and Alt+Q (mute all channels).
